Monopoly is probably the most popular and famous board game in the world, the aim of the game is to buy property and make money from that property. Guess Who is a classic board game that involves identifying a person using the process of elimination. Guess Who has lots of cards with pictures of people on them and the Guess Who game is for two players, each player then takes turns asking questions about the other players person on the card. As they ask questions they can eliminate people on their board which flip down as they are eliminated, for example one player could ask if the other persons character has blond hair and if they do they knock down all of the characters on their board that do not have blond hair. Both players keep doing this until the point where one player only has one character left so knows who the other players character is, if a player is quite a way behind they can guess the character of the other player from the characters they have left.
Cranium is a very popular game that features original questions and skill tests, it involves 14 different activities including sculpting, drawing, acting and other creative skills as well as the answering trivia questions. There is also a children’s version of Cranium called Cadoo which offers the same sculpting, drawing and acting but is easier to play, there is also a family version that focuses of team based activities. Scene It? is a very advanced board game that uses DVD’s to play, it was the first board game to use DVD’s and needs a DVD player and a television to play.
